Jason McIntyre Ranks His Top 10 NFL Teams Heading Into Week 1

Watch Jason McIntyre, guest-hosting for Colin Cowherd on The Herd, reveal his top 10 NFL teams heading into Week 1 with the season-opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens just over a week away.

10. Chicago Bears

“Yes, what a quantum leap for Caleb Williams. They had a spectacular offseason. The big question mark for the Bears is Matt Eberflus the coach. I liked the upgrade at OC, I obviously liked the upgrade at quarterback, and the schedule is extremely favorable. If the defense can stay healthy, and Caleb Williams can stay in the pocket and not do too much backyard quarterback, I think this is a playoff team.”

9. Buffalo Bills

“I said their Super Bowl window is closing. Short of a trade for Davante Adams, or something splashy on the offensive side, I don’t see it. I will be looking to draft Dalton Kincaid in Fantasy; he is in for a monster year. I’m just not thinking of the Bills. This past year they had their spot against the Chiefs at home in the playoffs and they failed. I know the kicker missed late, but Josh Allen had a little miscommunication, and where was Diggs on the final drive?”

8. Green Bay Packers

“I know Colin has them like in the Super Bowl or some nonsense. I like the Packers a lot, and I have them ahead of Buffalo because their schedule is a little more favorable, but I am concerned about the loss of Aaron Jones. I think it’s significant and it’s definitely being underplayed. I’m not as big of a believer into Josh Jacobs but I believe in Jordan Love. The defense has seven first-round picks starting. The talent is there, you just have to wonder which Jordan Love are we going to get. The second half where he was excellent or the first half when you were like ‘ehhh, is this even our guy?’"

7. New York Jets

“Folks, I didn’t shove the Jets down your throat the last couple days, but I’m telling you now – if they beat the Niners on Monday Night Football I will be more insufferable as usual. Everything is lined up – Salah, Joe Douglas; get it done with Haasan Reddick! Get him in camp! We need him!”

6. Houston Texans

“Jets smoked Houston at home last year and get them again this year. It’s possible I’m just late to the game on the Texans. I was late on Tesla too.”

5. Philadelphia Eagles

“Love the Saquon Barkley move, and upgraded at OC with Kellen Moore. I know that Sirianni is on the hot seat, but there’s a reason why this team started 10-1 the last two years. Watch out for a Jalen Hurts resurgence. Check those Jalen Hurts MVP futures.”

4. Cincinnati Bengals

“Joe Burrow is back and healthy. He is without his OC, Brian Callahan; he left to coach in Tennessee, but the defense has improved. Worst-to-first for the Bengals is definitely in play.”

3. Detroit Lions

“They had the Niners beat in the NFC Championship Game and then collapsed. I love this team. There’s a lot to love about Detroit, and going to the Super Bowl would be fantastic.”

2. Kansas City Chiefs

“Defending Super Bowl champs. You’re not three-peating. Left tackle and right tackle is an issue.”

1. San Francisco 49ers

“Brock Purdy season is here. I like this Niners team. I think they win the Super Bowl. The schedule is tougher so I don’t anticipate them getting 12-13 wins, but I think they win the Super Bowl.”

Notable exceptions: Ravens, Cowboys, Dolphins, Rams, Jaguars, Chargers, Bucs
