Nick Wright Makes His 2024 Predictions For the NFC West

Watch Nick Wright of FS1’s First Things First reveal his predictions for the NFC West Division that will feature the revamped Cardinals, the erratic Seahawks, the indomitable 49ers, and the threatening Rams.

4. Arizona Cardinals

“Just a brutal defensive roster. I think Gannon is a very good defensive coach but the personnel is not there. They're already dealing with injuries, including to some of their draft picks this year. Paris Johnson on the offensive line is awesome, but the rest of the offensive line is just questions galore. I obviously love Marvin Harrison Jr., and Greg [Jennings] is higher on Kyler than me. There are three good teams in this division and this is probably the best last place team in football, so in that division someone has got to come in last."

3. Seattle Seahawks

“This was the hardest team for me to leave out of the playoffs. Last year seemed like a super down year and they won nine games. I like Geno, I love Mike McDonald taking over that defense with all that talent, especially on the back end, and I think he can coach up the front end because you got a career year out of Clowney in Baltimore, Van Noy played great -- so I love that part of it. Obviously, their wide receivers are great, but the offensive line and the running game was just not enough for me to get them in the playoffs. I think they'll be around nine wins again."

2. San Francisco 49ers

“They will be in the playoffs, but way too many red flags for me to say they're just going to skate to 12 wins. Last year it seemed like they were dominant from start to finish, but they didn't win 14 games, they didn't win 13 games; they won 12 games. Aiyuk we still don't know. Trent Williams at this point might miss games. Training Camp is now over, if he was just trying to skip it it would be different. Williams might miss games, Christian McCaffrey is dinged, Ricky Pearsall has made it through three or four real practices -- a shoulder injury doesn't come up a lot for a wide receiver during the year, it'll just be fine from here on out, right?? I don't know, that seems like a tough one. In their last preseason game, two of their rotational defensive linemen got dinged. The Super Bowl hangover is enough for them to go from 12 wins to 10 wins. I have them in the playoffs and I think they'll be fine, but I don't think they'll be dominant."

1. Los Angeles Rams

“I think this should be the best offense in the NFC. Cooper Kupp is good whenever he's healthy, I don't know how much longer he will be healthy, but Puka is excellent. I love both their running backs, Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, the kid from Michigan, I think will be instantly effective. They have my pick for Defensive Rookie of the Year in Jared Verse, and they spent their second-round pick on his Florida State teammate Fiske. Matt Stafford is my sleeper MVP pick. I think the Rams are a 12-win team and win the division."
