Ohio State Head Football Coach Ryan Day should be happier than anyone in the country that the College Football Playoff has been expanded to 12 teams because he still has an opportunity to salvage this season despite a devastating loss to Michigan over the weekend. There’s a good chance he would have been fired by now if he didn’t have his squad playing in the postseason, but now he has a chance to redeem himself if he can bring a title back to Columbus.
Dan Patrick: “You bring in Chip Kelly, he’s your offensive coordinator? You spent $20M on your roster and that’s what you have to show for it, 10 points? He does have the playoffs to clean up the mess though, but it might be, I can’t think of a coach that needs to win the championship more than Ryan Day.”
