Aaron Rodgers Has Gotten Too Much Blame For The Jets' Disfunction

Rob and Kelvin react to a recent article from The Athletic -- one detailing much of the New York Jets' internal disfunction and painting owner Woody Johnson in a poor light. The guys discuss whether with this new information, it's fair to question whether Aaron Rodgers has shouldered too much of the blame for the team's woes.

Rob Parker: "Absolutely he's getting too much blame. The Jets have been disfunctional for a long time... Aaron Rodgers has become the NFL's piñata. People are going out of their way to try and discredit this guy, who's one of the greatest throwers of the football [in NFL history]. Whether you like him or not, it's been a piling on. Last year he got hurt in four snaps, so you can't really blame him. And then this year, while his numbers and his play are not good, I'll tell you, just for comparison, go look at Patrick Mahomes' numbers compared to his. They're identical. Meanwhile Rodgers is treated like the worst player in the world, while Mahomes is hailed as the greatest quarterback who's ever played. People don't like him because of McAfee and all the outside stuff, but they try to discredit him as if he hasn't won a Super Bowl. Like he hasn't won four MVPs. I think he's just an easy target at this point."
Kelvin Washington: "Look, quarterbacks get most of the blame, and they get most of the criticism. That's just the name of the game. Look at Sam Darnold. Look at Josh Allen. They're both seen as MVP candidates [because they're on teams that are having success]. This is what we do. The quarterbacks get all the criticism, but if things turn around, they get all the praise."
