The Penn State Nittany Lions were eliminated from the College Football Payoff last night in the Orange Bowl, losing a ferocious battle that came down to the wire. Penn State HC James Franklin is taking a lot of criticism for his play calling which resulted in a game-changing interception. Doug refuses to call Franklin a choker but FSR news anchor Dan Beyer has a differing opinion...

Doug Gottlieb: “I struggle in this one to go like, ‘Yeah, James Franklin; his team choked!’”

Dan Beyer: “I get it that they’re in it, and I get it that their team is in the semifinal, and they’re there ‘til the end and players need to make plays, but maybe this is a game they should’ve won by 10. Maybe this is a game they should’ve won by 14. And I think that’s the problem with James Franklin.”

Doug: “So, your thing is; James Franklin is a choker?”

Dan: “I’m saying the numbers don’t (lie). You’re giving him a pass for last night and I just don’t think the numbers lie.”
