Rob Parker: “How surprised were you at what the Commanders were able to do?”
Fred Smoot: “What I think about it is, we just introduced the world to America’s New Team. The thing about it is, inside that building, we knew we had a chance to beat them. You gotta realize, as good as the Detroit Lions are offensively, you know they were missing 13 guys on defense and sometimes that catches up with you, especially when you play a high-powered offense like the one we have. You also gotta realize that we have a rookie quarterback that’s leading the playoffs in passing percentage, passing efficiency, passing yards, and he doesn’t turn the ball over, which gives us the chance to win any game.

On this edition of The Odd Couple with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington, Rob & Kelvin were joined by former Washington safety Fred Smoot to talk about the team’s win over the Detroit Lions, their chances to advance to the Super Bowl, the future of the team, and more!
