Chargers' Melvin Gordon Has Suffered a Grade 2 MCL Sprain (Video)

The Arizona Cardinals took a lopsided loss to the Los Angeles Chargers 45-10 but didn't go away quietly. Chargers running back, Melvin Gordon took a nasty hit from Cardinals' defensive lineman, Robert Nkemdiche early in the third quarter on a reverse in the backfield. You can watch the video below to see the hit. This video may be a bit graphic.

As of this morning, according to Ian Rapoport, Melvin Gordon has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain and will be out for a few weeks but could make a return just before the end of the regular season. Gordon currently leads the Chargers with 802 yards and nine touchdowns on 153 carries along with 44 catches for 453 yards and four touchdowns. He's a vital piece to this Chargers team that's prime to make a strong push into the playoffs provided they can keep their momentum in Gordon's absence.  They'll lean on Austin Ekeler to take over the running back duties in Gordon's absence.
