Dan Patrick brought on Chargers RB Melvin Gordon ahead of his returning game against the Baltimore Ravens. Gordon makes his return to the line-up tomorrow after being out on injury for the past few weeks. Gordon talks about the difference in the running back position since he was drafted in 2015 to now. When asked who's the best running back in football:
DP: Best running back in football is who?
MG: Me.
DP: Second Best Running back in football is...
MG: Kareem Hunt.
DP: What about Todd Gurley?
MG: I like Todd too.
Gordon also talks about how running backs support each other especially when they get hurt:
"When I got hurt, when Jay Ajayi got hurt, I called Jay. (I think he's a top five back in this league too.) Todd Gurley called Jay when he got hurt, Todd had called me. We all look out for one another. Obviously, we all compete against each other but we're a brotherhood." Gordon continues, "We always had a big group message, me and Todd, Duke Johnson, Mike Davis."
Gordon also discusses the bandwagon effect on fans and building a fan base for the Chargers:
DP: Why don't you leave tickets for LeBron to go to a Chargers game.
MG: I would if he shows up. Man, I feel like everybody is just on the Rams bandwagon. My best friend plays for Minnesota so I went to the Rams VS. Vikings game...they had Floyd Mayweather and all these superstars, Jay- Z...I said, 'My God, I can't compete with THAT!'
Patrick and Gordon continued and talked about how Kobe Bryant has visited the team and what kind of NFL player he would have been compared to LeBron James:
"You put him (LeBron) at receiver and he'd be like Megatron."
