It would seem that Thursday Night Football allowed us to witness a changing of the guard when it comes to the NFL's MVP. In a narrative that's jumped from the Rams or the Chiefs to the Saints and now the Chargers, further analysis would have you assume that maybe it's dead even.
- Chiefs and Chargers are 11-3
- Rams and Saints are 11-2
The big story about these shifts are how they occurred. It felt like Todd Gurley was the man at the beginning followed by Jared Goff. Then Saints's Drew Brees stole it right under the Rams noses.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes was always in the running despite hitting a snag against Tom Brady's Patriots. Mahomes then got hurt by a Rams defeat which put the title soundly in Brees' hands. Meanwhile, "the little engine that could," LA Chargers went through a series of decent wins and unlucky losses but now find themselves near the top of their division with Philp Rivers slated to, possibly, take MVP. Dan Patrick is on board if Rivers can win the division.
