Last night was the return of Zion Williamson to the basketball court for Duke versus Syracuse. The speculation around the young phenom was that the player should have seriously considered sitting out college basketball after the exploding shoe incident vs. UNC left him with an injured knee. He looked like he was his old self dropping spectacular dunks, filling up the stat sheet and securing a win for Duke over Syracuse.
There was a moment during that game where a player on the opposing team, Frank Howard, appeared to try and trip Zion Williamson. The play has been looked at from all angles, and everyone has a differing opinion but, a good majority think Howard deserves a massive punishment for what transpired when you consider the circumstances.
Ben Maller, on the other hand, finds it ridiculous that people are overreacting to this incident. Maller thinks those seeking punishment for Frank Howard need to remember a Duke alum, and now NBA player, Grayson Allen.
