The New Orleans Pelicans have officially acquired a second superstar, as they picked up the biggest name rumored to leave as we near trade deadline day and got BOOGIE COUSINS from the Sacramento Kings. In return, they will send Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, and Buddy Hield.
What this means for Sacramento is clear. They were in a lose-lose situation with Boogie definitely making it known he was ready to move on, and teams now holding out on sending back major pieces in return due to their position at the bargaining table. This led to the Kings getting what has been described as '40 cents on the dollar' for their premier big man.
The Pelicans did something no one thought possible. They took a team with seemingly no assets and future plans, used an All Star Game in town to persuade one of the game's biggest stars, and got a superstar. A real superstar. Next to Anthony Davis, they instantly have the best frontcourt in the entire NBA.
