Ole Miss has jumped out ahead of possible NCAA punishment by self imposing a postseason ban for next season, after they were being looked into for impermissible benefits possibly given up for Leremy Tunsil and other players.
This type of self-infliction is usually a sign that the school wanted to come to a plea agreement with the NCAA, who may have otherwise come down much harder on them in terms of punishment. Jonas Knox sees it as more of a 'we are going to suck anyways' punishment, but Dan Beyer sees the severity in missing a postseason.
