Jim Boeheim made sure to say that nothing is a surprise to him anymore before he began his conversation with Dan Patrick about his possible retirement. One of the first things Boeheim said was that he 'wouldn't be surprised' if he had retired ten years ago, and that nothing is etched in stone about his plans.
However, the next sentence is the one that has made the rounds today on all sports sites.
"I might be done this year."
"You just don't know." Added Boeheim. "Sometimes you just have a bad week and you think about going fishing."
This is incredible audio, but the most important thing to Boeheim is that Syracuse, fresh off of an emotional win against Top 10 ranked Duke, is in it's best position to succeed and currently that is with Boeheim as head coach.
