Double Standards in Media Coverage: Grayson Allen and Ezekiel Elliott

The way the media covers particular stories goes a long way towards telling you what they want the general public to be discussing and debating. This is true with political news coverage, reporting on international events, and even in the world of sports. Never has this been more evident than the case of Grayson Allen in recent months, who has been labeled and dissected by pompous media personalities for his actions on the court for Duke.

Whether you agree or disagree with the common perception of Grayson Allen, you have to understand that the fact you are forming an opinion is a direct result of someone telling you that this is what you should be focusing on right now. When Ezekiel Elliott pulled down the shirt of a female at a St. Patrick's day celebration last weekend, the most we saw of it's coverage came from TMZ and twitter sharing of the video. Nowhere in the 'major' sports news channels was this video found, and if you solely got your information from the big boys, you were SOL on this one.

Ask yourself this, if Grayson Allen pulled down a Duke coeds shirt and it was caught on video, how many days in a row would it be talked about on every major sports network?

Clay Travis explains the vicious double standard taking place in the world of sports media in the audio below. You can hear Outkick the Coverage with Clay Travis every weekday from 6-9 am est. on Fox Sports Radio.
