Stan Van Gundy Adopts Last Dog at Shelter with Special Needs

posted by Michael Fowler -

Fox 11 - A dog who was found dumped in the cold, limping, and near blind a few months ago was the last animal remaining at an animal shelter in Northern Michigan following a 'clean out the shelter' event. The dog was adopted this week and his new home is with Stan Van Gundy.

In reading the report on this story I can proudly say that Stan Van Gundy is a certified hero, and one of my new favorite coaches in the entire league. What an awesome story.

Eastwood is maybe the cutest dog in the entire world, and the fact that the Van Gundy family is going to put $4,000 into surgeries to help Eastwood find a more peaceful life in their home is amazing.

If you didn't care about Van Gundy or the Pistons before today, you should keep a special place reserved in your fandom for someone who does good deeds for dogs from here on out. We don't deserve dogs, generally speaking, but sounds like this is a match made in heaven.
