After making one of the most astonishing trades in modern NFL Draft history, Doug Gottlieb thinks the Bears are displaying a lot more insanity than genius these days.
Overpaying for career backup Mike Glennon was one thing, but their decision to siphon a bucket full of picks for one of the Draft’s riskiest prospects teetered on absurdity, especially coming from a franchise who has had more incompetence come from the quarterback position than any team in the NFL (I got you, Cleveland).
Gottlieb thought it was bizarre how the franchise had a honeymoon period with Glennon for weeks, even inviting him to their official draft day party, only to have him watch in horror as the team pulled a 180 real quick, ultimately leaving Glennon humiliated.
For a team who's gone 14-34 the last three seasons, this might just be standard procedure from now on for the downtrodden franchise.
