Last night, Kawhi Leonard sat out the final possession and all of overtime as the Spurs eventually squeaked past the Rockets in game five of the Western Conference Semifinals.
People are saying that Kawhi was injured, unable to perform at his usual standard, causing Pop to leave him on the bench during the most crucial moments of the season. But when you think about it, after he vowed to play in game six, wasn't this just an example of not playing through pain?
With Kawhi Leonard saying he plans to play Game 6, Clay Travis points out that if LeBron had been in the exact same situation and sat out the end of a 4Q and OT in a crucial playoff game, he would be completely destroyed while Kawhi doesn't even get an ounce of criticism.
