LeBron James was pulling a social experiment on his teammates during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and it resulted in a loss.
By taking a back seat in the series that looked all but settled, he wanted to see if the other stars on the Cavaliers could step up in the face of adversity. LeBron even said in his post-game press conference that adversity is a major proponent on the NBA Playoffs, all but justifying his decision to take less than half of his usual shot attempts.
