The NFL has made adjustments to their overtime rules this week, shortening the length of the period from 15 minutes down to 10 minutes. Why did they do this? Because the shorter OT period will lead to less overall run-time for the game, create urgency to score in the extra session, and lessen the chance of injuries to exhausted players.
The NFL is really overthinking this.
