Baker Mayfield: We Have People We Believe in Calling The Plays Now

Cleveland Browns Quarterback, Baker Mayfield addressed the media after taking it to the Cincinnati Bengals and shared his feelings on a familiar face in the Bengals lineup. Hue Jackson and Todd Haley were fired in October in hopes to improve the Cleveland Browns who were' facing a slump around that time. Jackson has now taken up the position as special assistant to the coach of the Bengals which is a move that looks like you've decided to move into the house adjacent to your ex-lover.

Mayfield said the following regarding his brief handshake with Jackson after the game:

Mayfield: Didn't feel like talking...

Press: You or him?

Mayfield: Me.

Press: (Why?)

Mayfield: I don't know...he left Cleveland and goes down to Cincinnati...It's just somebody that was in our locker room asking for us to play for him and then goes to a different team we play twice a year.

Mayfield goes on to explain that this is like any rivalry game and he and his teammates should treat it as such.

You can watch what's being called the "We're-just-friends handshake," below.

Mayfield was then asked:

Press: Is there any feeling in your mind that Hue was the reason this team wasn't winning?

Mayfield: No. What it comes down to is, we still have the same players. That's what I said when everything was happening. We just have to play better. You can put your own spin on it but we have people we believe in calling the plays now.
