Rob Parker: “I didn’t think anything could be worse than the Pro Bowl and then yesterday happened. Last night was let’s do our best to totally turn people off to the NBA All-Star Game so that we don’t have to play it anymore. Like as if it was designed so that people would talk about it and say we should end it... that’s what it felt like. Total disregard for the league, total disregard for the fans.”
Rob Parker: “How embarrassing for Adam Silver (NBA Commissioner) to have egg on his face talking about that and putting that out there (telling players to play hard) and then they turn in that performance.... it (NBA All Star Weekend) was interesting to me back in those days (1987) and what its turned into is a total embarrassment and not worth watching.”
Chris Broussard: “The celebrity game was more competitive... I mean they were trying harder than these players and there’s no excuse... the players are not putting their best foot forward for the TV audience.”
