Clay Travis: Sports Fans Are Already Tired of NBA's Social Justice Politics

Clay Travis: “Do you know which sport is dunking all over every other sport right now? GOLF. Ratings wise, golf is dunking on every other sport going on right now in America. Last week, only one event in the NBA narrowly out-rated any of the four days of golf down the stretch of the WGC Championship in Memphis. This week, I think the PGA Championship is going to absolutely crush everyone else. I’ve got a theory on why that is. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that if you look at all the sports going on right now the one that is performing the best, golf, is the least political, and the one that is performing the worst, the NBA, is the most political. The NBA is struggling in a big way with their audience right now, and I think by the NBA Playoffs they’re going to do away with all the social justice slogans on the jerseys completely. The NBA has horribly miscalculated what the American sports fans want, and people are voting in droves not to consume their product… The vast majority of sports fans have no interest whatsoever in social justice warrior-dom or politics being mixed with sports… People are fed up with politics, and they want to escape the serious things in their lives, and the last thing they want to do is turn on the NBA and be lectured to by that league.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Clay Travis explain why he thinks golf has dominated the TV ratings since pro sports returned late last month, as Clay believes sports fans quickly became weary of the NBA’s incessant fixation towards politics during their coverage and Live broadcasts.

Check out the video above as Clay details why he thinks sports fans are simply fed up with politics, and consumers who just want to turn into a Live event that will help them detach from their stress-filled life in a political-free presentation.
