Drew Brees is Not Guaranteed to Get His Job Back

Jason Smith: “Taysom Hill showed on Sunday what nobody thought he’d be able to do. No one thought he was going to be as dynamic as he was. For everybody who just thinks Drew Brees is going to waltz back in to be the starting quarterback – the longer Brees is out, the harder it’s going to be to reclaim his starting job. Taysom Hill can do more than Drew Brees, and at this point Brees is kind of like an elite ‘game manager’. The offense is not dynamic and Brees doesn’t go down the field at all… Taysom Hill played terrific last week, and if he has two more games like THAT I don’t know how you go back to Drew Brees… Can you really look at this team and say ‘we’re better off with Drew Brees than we are with Taysom Hill’? Two more games like that and Taysom Hill has to keep that job when Brees is healthy.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Jason Smith explain why he doesn’t think Drew Brees will ever see the field again for the New Orleans Saints if Taysom Hill has two more games like he played last week against Atlanta when he went 18 of 23, for 233 yards, 51 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.

Check out the audio above as Smith details why it’s no guarantee that Brees gets his starting job back again when healthy.
