Trevor Lawrence Opens About About Possibility of Being Drafted by the Jets

Dan Patrick: “How can you not let the situation with the Jets affect you, where you could end up in New York if they don’t win, and you’re the number one pick? You don’t get to pick where you want to go, and that’s really difficult for somebody just starting out. How prepared are you to do something like that?”

Trevor Lawrence: “I think I’m ready. Being here at Clemson, my journey has taught me a lot and I’ve grown up a lot the past few years. I’m ready to just take on whatever challenge it is and just have the opportunity."

DP: “Have you watched the Jets?”

Lawrence: “I haven’t really honestly, I’ve seen some highlights and stuff.”

DP: “DON’T!”

Lawrence: “Honestly, I know some of the stuff I say sounds cliché, but just to have the opportunity to go somewhere, help someone rebuild if that’s what it is or whatever, and just win -- that’s something I love doing, and what I’m best at is winning regardless of stats. Just to have that chance, obviously it will be a challenge in some places more than others, but I think I’m for it. That’ll get here when it gets here, and right now I just want to focus on being great where I’m at.”

Listen to Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, more than likely going to be the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, discuss with Dan Patrick the possibility of him being selected by the New York Jets, who currently sit at 0-13 and in position to receive the top pick in the Draft.

Check out the interview above as Lawrence details what challenges he expects to take on in the NFL, even if it may be with one of the league's most incompetent franchises.
