Doug Gottlieb: “I just can’t believe what Russell Wilson said. This was just two days removed from him being named the ‘Walter Payton Man of the Year’… That has to do with your good works off the football field, but one would think that if you’re thoughtful and giving of your time, your money, your energy, and your resources for the greater good of the world, or a specific part of the community, then you would have the same sort of thought process in your work. He told reporters he was tired of being hit, and he told reporters he wants some say in personnel decisions… He’s throwing his offensive line under the bus when he is just as, if not MORE guilty than Pat Mahomes of holding onto the football too long… This dude needs to GET OVER HIMSELF. This dude is so ENTITLED it is silly… I love Russell Wilson and think he’s fantastic, but dude, what are you doing?? Saying you’re ‘tired of getting hit’ is calling out the offensive line. ‘I wanna be involved in player personnel’? The slogan in the NFL is ‘DO YOUR JOB.’ YOUR job is to play quarterback, not to try and pick out the groceries. Russell comes off as the opposite of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Doug Gottlieb, guest-hosting for Colin Cowherd, blast Russell Wilson for his recent grumblings about being sacked too much and desiring more say in the team’s personnel decisions, as Gottlieb says that doesn’t exactly sound like a ‘Walter Payton Man of the Year’ award winner, and more like someone who needs to get over themselves.
Check out the audio above as Gottlieb details how entitled Wilson sounds, and why he should accept more accountability for his team’s struggles since their last Super Bowl title in 2013.
