Why Andre Drummond Won't Save a Sinking Lakers Team

Listen to Ben Maller give a scathing review on why he doesn’t think the Los Angeles Lakers’ acquisition of former All-Star center Andre Drummond will have much effect on an embattled Lakers team that has spent the last couple of weeks plummeting in the standings.

Drummond is only 27 years old and is averaging 14.6 points and 13.8 rebounds for his career, but is your classic back-to-the-basket big man and true center having made just 15 three-pointers in 10 seasons, and not exactly the most coveted player stylistically in 2021.

Drummond is also one of the worst free-throw shooters in NBA history, having made just 46.7% of his attempts.

He’s appeared in only two postseasons, both sweeps, and has been on just two teams that finished the season with a record of .500 or better.

Check out the audio above as Maller details why he’s not on the Lakers bandwagon at the moment, even going so far as to doubt whether the Lakers will even make the postseason in the wake of the uncertainty around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
