Boxing Insider Fears Billy Joe Saunders' Face Injury Could Be Career-Ending

Mike Coppinger: “Billy Joe was really boxing beautifully, southpaw jab, landed a lot of big overhand lefts, but Canelo has a great chin and Canelo never seemed to really care about winning a ‘boxing’ match, or trying out out-box Billy Joe Saunders. He was throwing massive shots and he wanted to hurt him, and he did. Billy Joe Saunders’ corner stopped the fight after round 8 because Billy Joe Saunders suffered multiple fractures toward his orbital bone, and he’s going to be in Fort Worth, TX, in the hospital until Wednesday at least, because you can’t fly if you have an injury like that. That’s a really bad surgery. You have to have your face cut open. You have to have a metal pipe put in there, who knows if he’s ever going to fight again. That was a brutal right uppercut.” (Full Interview Above)
