Why the Seahawks Should Trade Russell Wilson

Peter King: “You really have to question whether the Seahawks can respond this year and whether the Seahawks, in my opinion, should think of trading Russell Wilson for three ones and a good player in March. I think the automatic answer is absolutely categorically not, you don’t trade a great quarterback, you don’t do it. Well, if he’s going to be really unhappy, and I’m not saying he will be, but I’m saying that you shouldn’t just dismiss it out of hand. John Schneider found Russell Wilson with the 72nd pick in the Draft nine years ago and I’m sure he has faith in his ability to find another quarterback in the draft. I don’t know if that will happen truly, but that game [On Sunday vs. Packers] made a lot of bold statements.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to NFL reporter Peter King join The Dan Patrick Show and explain why he thinks the Seattle Seahawks should explore trading Russell Wilson in the offseason.

The comatose Seahawks dropped to 3-6 on the season after their loss to the Packers on Sunday and currently sit in 14th place in the NFC. Wilson will turn 33 in two weeks, but given the longevity provided to quarterbacks by the strict no-contact rules with quarterbacks in 2021, paired with Wilson’s million-dollar offseason training regimen, it’s not out of the question to imagine Wilson playing at an MVP level until he’s 40.

Check out the video above as King details to DP how he thinks the Seahawks could get a massive haul back in return for one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and a future Hall of Famer.
