Jonas Knox: “Right when you thought Baker Mayfield’s time in Cleveland was done, and we were all moving on, and let’s let bygones be bygones, and that’s a wrap, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic had a report out over the weekend that said the Browns viewed Baker Mayfield as ‘childish’, ‘immature’, ‘difficult to coach’, a ‘locker room divider’, etc.”
LaVar Arrington: “So why wait until now to release these types of articles? To me, that’s just classic hating, and that could be a tad bit of ‘traders remorse.’ You generally hate on things that you like for some reason, I don’t know why. I don’t like the feel of it, I don’t like the tone of it, and for whatever it’s worth, that dude has gone through enough already dealing with how things have been handled in Cleveland. I would venture to say that a whole bunch of players have had to endure a lot with dealing with the way Cleveland handles things. The dude is gone, why come out with reports like that? That’s lowbrow to me, man. C’mon, why do this now? They’ve been doubling down on the stupidity. Now it’s been ‘reported’ that they were tired of the childishness? THAT is childish in itself. Why can’t they just it go? They have a lot more to worry about and focus their attention on than the former starting quarterback of their team. Honestly, that’s a quote you could have did without because that’s one of those leaked reports where you start to look at Cleveland and you’re like ‘Cleveland, hold up now…’ because there’s a lot of people who have never worked for Cleveland, have never played for Cleveland, have never been associated with Cleveland, and knows how badly ran that organization is. Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? How exactly are people going to interpret YOU guys and how childish and unprofessionally YOU guys handle things? How about how dumb you guys look doing a big a** contract with a guy [Deshaun Watson] who is in a situation where he hasn’t played ball and could possibly not play ball for an extended amount of time? You have other owners around the league calling you morons, like relax on parting shots like that that you can do without. Clean up your image, don’t continue to make it worse. Take the high road.” (Full Segment Above)
Listen to former NFL player and current Fox Sports Radio host LaVar Arrington call out the Browns after The Athletic featured a report this week that ripped former Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield in the form of damning anonymous gossip supposedly from within the organization about the former no. 1 overall pick.
Check out the segment above as Arrington details how unnecessary the anti-Mayfield leaks in the report were, saying it’s ironic that one of the most incompetent franchises in the history of the NFL is trying to dump on a former quarterback who delivered their first playoff win since 1995.
