Colin Cowherd: “They had a full team, everybody’s back, Steph was amazing, Milwaukee hung for awhile, Warriors blow them out late with a gigantic fourth quarter... The band is finally all back together. They add Chris Paul, it’s a new GM, the death of an assistant, Klay comes off the bench, young kids everywhere and they’re blowing out Milwaukee. Great win. FINALLY the entire unit is back, and I'll make my call – Warriors end up in the Western Conference Finals against Denver. Calling it out right now! Celtics and Nuggets make the Finals, Warriors get to the Western Conference Finals.”
Despite sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference and currently slotted in a tumultuous play-in scenario with three dangerous teams in the Lakers, Mavericks, and Kings, Colin Cowherd believes the Golden State Warriors will reach the Western Conference Finals.
Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins were on the floor together for the first time in two months on Wednesday night to help the Warriors eviscerate a Milwaukee Bucks team who had come in winning six consecutive games and finally playing an elite level of defense critics of Doc Rivers thought was impossible.
Golden State shockingly outscored the Bucks 32-9 during a fourth quarter that reminded Cowherd of the Warrior dynasty teams that Colin isn’t willing to part ways with just yet.
For Colin’s prediction to come fruition, Golden State would first have to navigate through a daunting play-in round with Dallas, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, before matching up with either Minnesota or Oklahoma City in the first round.
The more likely scenario would be Golden State moving up three games ahead of the Pelicans and Suns to grab the no. 6 seed in the West, while hoping that the Denver Nuggets overtake either Minnesota or OKC to drop both untested enigmas into a playoff matchup with the battle-tested Warriors.
Colin's bold takes comes less than a week after Golden State embarrassingly lost by 52 points in Boston on Sunday, with the Celtics having already run up the deficit to 44 points at halftime. It was the fourth-worst defeat in Warriors franchise history.
Check out the segment above as Colin describes Steph Curry as the ‘anti-LeBron James’, and the ‘fourth-best guard he’s seen in NBA history.
