Jonas Knox: “There was this report out there that Deion was only interested in having his kids play for six teams and listed the teams. He’s saying it was a ‘lie’ and that he didn’t say it. I’m confused because I thought it was from him, but Deion is saying ‘no, that’s a bold-faced lie.’"
LaVar Arrington: “He never named teams. He shot me a message yesterday and said that he never named teams that he wants his kids to play for. He also said it would be easier to name the teams I wouldn’t want them to play for ‘if I was into that.’ That’s what he sent me. That’s not an opinion, he factually sent me this message and I just gave that to you guys. I asked him about the Dallas situation and he said he [Shadeur] ‘doesn’t wanna go pro.’ I made sure I asked if him it was okay for me to share it and he not only said it was okay but he wanted it to be shared. He’s my old teammate and I’m good friends with him.”
Former NFL player and co-host of Fox Sports Radio’s Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, LaVar Arrington, said on Thursday that Colorado head coach Deion Sanders reached out to him and denied the recent report that alleged Deion has listed ‘six teams’ that he will allow his sons Shedeur and Shilo to play for when they eventually come out for the NFL Draft.
Arrington, who played with Sanders on the formerly named Washington Redskins in 2000, says Sanders texted him to proclaim that there’s no ‘list’ Deion is currently floating to NFL teams, and asserted that the bogus report came from a podcast interview Sanders did earlier this month where he said his sons could ‘pull an Eli’ and refuse to sign with unfavorable franchises.
Despite that bold claim from Sanders, Arrington says that Sanders insists that there is no ‘list, and that the six teams that were being floated – 49ers, Cowboys, Ravens, Falcons, and Commanders – were simply the five teams Sanders has played for, with the sixth team, Philadelphia, being the team the radio hosts were boasting as destinations for Shedeur, Shilo, and Travis Hunter during the interview with the Hall of Fame corner, and that the story became lost in translation.
