Chris Broussard: “Let me give you a little inside information I’ve been told today. The Lakers are OUT and have no chance of getting Kawhi Leonard. Even if they clear up enough cap room for a max contract, they’re not getting Kawhi. I’m told the Clippers are the frontrunner.”
Listen to NBA insider and co-host of The Odd Couple, Chris Broussard, break recent news he’s received that has officially ruled out superstar free agent Kawhi Leonard from signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers had joined the Clippers, Knicks, and Raptors as the four teams reportedly with the best chance to sign the two-time Finals MVP, but Broussard believes the Lakers are OUT on The Board Man’s services.
Fresh off acquiring All-NBA forward Anthony Davis, the Lakers had been quickly maneuvering to try and get enough cap space to be able to afford another superstar to join AD and LeBron James.
Leonard is a Los Angeles native and many around the league believed his desire to win championships could give the Lakers the upper-hand on their little brothers in the opposing locker room at Staples Center.
Check out the audio below as Broussard says he believes the Clippers are the heavy front-runners to land the three-time All-Star who is now widely considered the best player in the world.
