Colin Cowherd Says Mitch Trubisky is 'Painfully Limited', Bears Need New QB

Green Bay Packers v Chicago Bears
Colin Cowherd: “I think Matt Nagy had a phone call with Bears GM Ryan Pace last night while driving home saying ‘I’m giving everything I got here, and this is not good enough.’ The Bears are completely limited with Mitch Trubisky. It’s not just about winning, it’s HOW you win. Even Tim Tebow won seven consecutive games in the NFL. Over the course of 15 years a franchise isn’t always going to have a defense like this Bears defense or Tebow’s Broncos defense. It’s been three years and Nagy is brilliant. They’ve got really good players. I’ve said from day one that I never got Trubisky. They are making decisions in that Bears organization. They’re trying to squeeze ANYTHING out of Trubisky and it’s not there in year 3.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page).

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Chicago Bears are already putting the wheels in motion towards moving off third-year starter Mitch Trubisky at quarterback ASAP a night after he put up on airball on Thursday Night Football with a touchdown-less clunker that earned a 15.6 QBR.

Colin has never been a fan of Trubisky, and has always felt like he had a ‘limited ceiling’ as a game manager behind arguably the league’s best defense.

Despite finishing third in the NFL in QBR last season, Trubisky put up under 250 yards passing in his 10 of his 14 starts last season.

Colin says QB wins in the NFL are sometimes a major red herring in determining a player’s true value, as Colin believes the Bears dominant defense is the real star in Chicago.

Check out the video below as Colin details why Bears head coach Matt Nagy is too much of an offensive genius for the team to be handcuffed with Trubisky mediocre skills.
