Jalen Ramsey Says He Wants to Play With Former FSU Teammate Derwin James

Jalen Ramsey: “I don’t know when it’s going to be, or under what terms, but at some point me and Derwin will play on the same team again. My little brother. We WILL link again, 1000%.”

All-Pro Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey said on his Instagram Live feed Tuesday that he will ‘1000%’ play on the same team again with All-Pro Los Angeles cornerback Derwin James, as the duo starred on the 2015 Florida State Seminoles team, when Ramsey was a junior and James was a freshman.

Ramsey reportedly asked to be traded on Monday, as the disgruntled fourth-year player is looking to become the highest paid corner in the league, still two years removed from becoming a unrestricted free agent.

Ramsey will earn $3.6 million this season, and $13.7 million next season as a part of his fifth year option being picked up, but Ramsey has demanded he get a new deal before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

Ramsey showed up to Jaguars training camp in a Brinks armored bank truck, while a hype man stepped out of the back of the truck holding up a megaphone yelling "YOU ALL KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS. TIME TO GET THAT MONEY", with Ramsey then emerging holding gym bags full of cash.”

James is still nursing a broken pinky toe and won’t be eligible to return from the Injured List until Week 9. James is under contract till at least 2021 and has a first round rookie team option for 2022.

The 2015 Florida State team went 10-3 with Ramsey and James as teammates, with Ramsey having been a member of the undefeated 2013 National Championship winning Seminoles team anchored by Jameis Winston, Devonta Freeman, Kelvin Benjamin Telvin Smith, and LaMarcus Joyner.
