Colin Cowherd: Cleveland Browns Need to Move On From Baker Mayfield

Colin Cowherd: “Freddie Kitchens was not big enough to own Baker. They need a MAN; a Jack Del Rio or Anthony Lynn type. This is going to be very difficult but they need to hire a coach that can go to the general manager and reassess Baker Mayfield. HE AIN’T THAT GOOD. He cannot be the face of the franchise, he’s not mature enough. You have to build around these excellent running backs and this excellent defensive front. You can’t have a guy arguing with Bengals fans and challenging them to fights being the face of a franchise.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why it’s time for the Cleveland Browns to hire a head coach that will challenge Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, and who would potentially make an aggressive pitch to the general manager John Dorsey to question and reassess the direction of the team at quarterback.

Head coach Freddie Kitchens was fired late Sunday night after the Browns wrapped up one of the most disappointing seasons in the league, posting a 6-10 record after at one time being heralded as dark horse Super Bowl contender before the season.

Mayfield finished the season with 5 less touchdown passes (22) than last season (27) when he only played in 14 games, and his 21 interceptions ranked second in the NFL (Jameis Winston). He also posted the second lowest passer rating in the league (Andy Dalton), and the second lowest completion percentage as well (Josh Allen).
