Antonio Brown Facing Life Sentence For Felony Burglary With Battery Charges

Arguably the most prominent NFL storyline this season has been the potential landing spot for former All-Pro NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, and when he would finally return to the field.

That discussion may likely be silenced forever as the six-time Pro Bowler is just simply trying to avoid jail time at this point, as ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe, one of the leading correspondents following this saga, is reporting that Brown is facing a potential life sentence chargers for ‘burglary with battery’.

Brown turned himself into the authorities late Thursday night, and was seen in jail on Friday morning being processed and standing in front of an off-site video judge to have his charges read.

Brown’s mugshot and court photos made the rounds on Twitter, with ominous photos showing Brown not only in a tan prison jumpsuit, but wearing handcuffs and an anti-suicide vest in another.

Brown’s lawyer was quick to discount the severity of the charges, saying the magnitude of the crime will be diluted:

“They overcharged him… Once a thorough investigation is done, we believe the charges filed will most likely be very different than they are right now.”

Brown was released on a $110,000 bond, and will be forced to surrender his passport and guns, be monitored on GPS tracking, submit to drug and alcohol testing, and be forced to go through a mandatory mental health evaluation.

Brown was seen literally running away from the jail upon his release, and was seen wearing a baby blue suit with a black lapel, and bedazzled rose patch on the chest. Twitter users quickly discovered it was the same suit he wore during the NFL Honors ceremony in 2018. A cruel image that made Brown’s catastrophic fall from grace come full circle.
