Expect a Big Regression For Lamar Jackson Next Season

NFL Pro Bowl
Ben Maller: “I would expect Lamar Jackson’s magic carriage to turn back into a pumpkin at midnight. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, and he’s not gonna be near what he was last year.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Ben Maller explain why he thinks Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will have a big regression next season, just a few months removed from Jackson’s electrifying MVP season that saw him lead the league in touchdown passes and QBR, and break Michael Vick’s single-season record for rushing yards at the quarterback position.

Maller finds it hard to envision Jackson possibly coming back for an encore in a 2020 that will see the Baltimore Ravens go from the ‘hunter’ to the ‘hunted’.

Durability issues aside, as Jackson’s esteemed skill sets as a running quarterback puts a bullseye for tacklers targeting his lower body, Maller thinks the competition for the Ravens will be much more stiff this year with defenses now having a vast assortment of tape on the 23-year-old.

Despite Jackson dominating during the regular season the past two seasons, he’s posted two ugly one-and-done playoff losses that has seen him combine for an unsightly 51.1% completion percentage, and morbid 68.3 passer rating.

Check out the audio below as Maller details why Jackson’s 2019 season was clearly his ceiling.
