Why Baker Mayfield's Days in Cleveland Are Numbered

Why Baker Mayfield's Days in Cleveland Are Numbered
Ben Maller: “It is not looking good for Baker Mayfield. There are storm clouds on the horizon! Even though the Browns have a winning record, is it REALLY because of Baker Mayfield? He is slightly better than he was last season. He’s not terrible, he’s just ‘blahhh.’ He’s still not living up to expectations. When you’re the number one pick you’re supposed to be poetry in motion, and are expected to be on the fringe of All-Pro status. Baker Mayfield is none of those things. He’s not been a force multiplier, and he’s been a JAG – Just Another Guy. You didn’t need to take THAT type of player with the number one overall pick. They’re above .500, but they’re above .500 because they’ve been able to run the ball and occasionally play defense. The Browns passing offense ranks 27th in the NFL, and Baker is the 25th rated QB. It’s a ‘ground and pound’ offense, and the Browns are fifth in rushing.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Ben Maller explain why he thinks third-year quarterback Baker Mayfield’s days are numbered in Cleveland, as Maller discusses recent comments from the Cleveland Browns GM that were supposed to be endorsing Mayfield, but instead came off like they were backhanded compliments.

Check out the audio above as Maller details why he doesn’t think Mayfield will be the starter next season.
