Listen to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio join The Rich Eisen Show to explain why the Denver Broncos vs. New Orleans Saints game went on as scheduled on Sunday despite Denver having their entire quarterback room knocked out of the game because of COVID-19 concerns, while the Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game scheduled for Thanksgiving, was repeatedly pushed back deeper into the week because of mounting positive tests.
The Broncos were without Drew Lock, Jeff Driskel, and Blake Bortles for their must-win game vs. the Saints in Week 12, and were forced to play practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton, who would end up posting the lowest QBR rating in NFL history, to the tune of one single completed pass in four quarters.
Denver was still clinging to Wild Card hopes in the AFC while sitting behind a log jam of 6 and 7-win teams for the final three Wild Card spots, but their 7th loss likely knocked them out of contention for good.
Check out the segment above as Florio explains why the NFL didn’t do the Broncos any favors.
