Ben Maller: “How concerned should Sean McVay be with Jared Goff? On the ‘Maller Scale of Panic’ with 10 being your quarterback is raw sewage, Sean McVay is at a NINE with Jared Goff… Time's a-wastin for the Rams, there is no need to sugarcoat things. Jared Goff continues to be a guy at quarterback that is a BOONDOGGLE when he’s out there. You’ve got an elite, top 2 defense in the NFL, and the Rams season -- as far as how far they’re going to go -- is limited. If you think of this like NASCAR, Jared Goff is a human restrictor plate. His medley of mistakes limits the top speed that the Rams can reach. They can’t go full throttle because of that restrictor plate… McVay has done a pretty good job to hide Jared Goff, but he’s a stain on the furniture of the Rams… The first 7 weeks of this season Goff had 12 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and no lost fumbles, but most of that was against the NFC East. Unfortunately, now that the Rams have gotten away from playing the NFC East the last five weeks Jared Goff has 4 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, and 4 lost fumbles... They are now single-handedly losing games because of football incompetence.” (Full Audio Above)
Listen to Ben Maller explain why he thinks ‘boondoggle’ Jared Goff greatly limits the Rams potential to win a Super Bowl, as Goff is coming off a game where he posted a wretched 10.1 QBR vs. the 49ers on Sunday, in which he threw 2 picks, and lost a fumble, while accounting for zero touchdowns.
Check out the audio above as Maller details why Sean McVay has to do a better job at ‘hiding’ Goff, and why Goff is a ‘human restrictor plate’ for one of the NFL’s most talented teams.
