Jason Smith: “This sounds like a hot take but it’s not really a hot take. All the evidence you needed that Aaron Rodgers is leaving the Packers after this year was on display Sunday… Why was Aaron Rodgers saying ‘I OWN YOU, I STILL OWN YOU’ to the Bears? THIS is why Rodgers is leaving after this year. Aaron Rodgers is not doing this if he knows he has to come back and play the Bears three, four, or five more times in his career. After years of dominating the Bears he knows this could be the last time he could play at Soldier Field. He doesn’t know if the Broncos may have the Bears on their schedule next year, and this is a very emotional time for him because he’s been playing the Bears and beating the Bears for such a long time. Why else would he say that?? He knows standing next to the cameras that it’s going to be picked up. He knows he’s leaving and it’s emotional. He wants to make it clear that he’s leaving and ‘I STILL OWN YOU’ and I might not ever be coming back. THAT was his goodbye to Soldier Field and he did exactly what he needed to do.” (Full Audio Above)
