Doug has been underwhelmed by the amount of anticipation and excitement for this year’s parade of potential and he talks about it with FSR college football expert Dan Beyer. Doug thinks we have lost interest in upcoming players because transfer protocols and NCAA rules are keeping fans from being truly invested. Dan thinks it’s as simple as which teams are picking at the top of the draft. We have smaller market teams dictating how this draft will go and they lack the fan base to generate that buzz we are accustomed to feeling.
Doug Gottlieb: “For whatever reason, there’s not the buzz behind it. Why do you think that is?”
Dan Beyer: “...It’s because of the teams that are atop the draft...those are 4 teams that that just don’t register on a national sort of level where you have enormous fan bases.”
