TJ Houshmandzadeh Confirms Jon Kitna's 'Drunk' Bengals Wide Receiver Story

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and current Fox Sports Radio host TJ Houshmandzadeh confirmed Jon Kitna’s viral story from last week when Kitna told a story on Ryen Russillo’s podcast about playing with an unnamed Bengals wide receiver who was ‘drunk’ in their huddle and then proceeded to total nearly 200 yards receiving that same game.

Here was Kitna’s full quote:

“I don’t wanna throw anybody under the bus but… there was a time that I played a game with a guy that was drunk in the huddle," Kitna said. "There was a time that a guy showed up late to a game. In the NFL, you need to be there two hours, two hours and 15 minutes ahead of time. And he showed up under an hour before the game even started. Those are weird things, now. That's tough… I'm not sure if the staff knew. But I think the guy was like— that was kind of his normal. I mean he was drunk and had close to 200 yards receiving now. It was crazy."

Houshmandzadeh didn’t elaborate on WHO exactly Kitna was talking about, first denying that it wasn’t him, but did say the story was indeed true, saying that he only played ‘5, 7, 10’ snaps during the season Kitna is referring to.

That would likely mean that Kitna’s story is referring to the 2003 season in which Houshmandzadeh only played just two games in due to a serious hamstring injury that cost him the season.

Check out the audio above as Houshmandzadeh adds a little more perspective and context to Kitna’s story.
