The Portland Trail Blazers All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, has reportedly signed a maximum contract extension, sources with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPN's Bobby Marks.
Marks reports the two-year, $122 million extension will be added to Lillard's current contract and begin with the 2024-25 season, totaling "his career on-court earnings" to $436 million, which ranks behind only Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Bradley Beal as the highest in NBA history.
Lillard was limited to just 29 games -- the fewest of his 10-year NBA career -- during the 2021-22 season, but still averaged 24 points and 7.3 assists during 336.4 minutes per game.
"The contract negotiated by Aaron Goodwin of Goodwin Sports Management will keep the franchise guard in a Portland uniform for the foreseeable future," Marks tweeted.
Lillard, a six-time All-Star, underwent abdominal surgery for a lingering injury after being pulled from the Trail Blazers' lineup just as the team was officially out of playoff contention.
The Oakland, California remains Portland's franchise player as the team looks to rebuild, having missed the playoffs for the first time since Lillard's rookie season in 2013.
