Clay Travis: “Saudi Arabia just in the last couple years let women drive cars, do you think they’re going to be good at playing soccer?? Iran just allowed to women to go to games. Is it any surprise that our women, who are completely bathing in freedoms compared to everyone else in the world, would be able to dominate the rest of the world? If you’re Megan Rapinoe and you care a great deal about women’s rights wouldn’t you wanna use your platform to shine a light on the lack women’s rights that exist in the rest of the world instead of insulting the president?”
Listen to Clay Travis discuss the ongoing feud between President Donald Trump and the United States Women’s National Team, as team captain Megan Rapinoe was recently quoted saying ‘I’m not going to the f**king White House’ during a post-practice interview.
Clay is surprised the team has gone out of their way to become so polarizing the last month, as their grudge with Trump has been an even bigger World Cup storyline than the actual tournament itself.
Not only does Clay think the team is alienating a large portion of sports fans with their convenient politicking on the sport’s biggest stage, but Clay thinks they should worry about much larger issues than a sassy president. Clay thinks the team should be using its grand platform to shine a light on women’s rights across the globe. Clay mentions how the most successful women’s soccer teams in the world are simply the ones with more rights and that you can blindly predict who is going to win each game by just figuring out which country offers more opportunities to its females.
Check out the audio below as Clay thinks Rapinoe and the rest of the USWNT should focus on the atrocious treatment of women across the globe and let Trump continue to troll aimlessly on Twitter.
