Listen to Colin Cowherd preview the upcoming Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills Week 14 matchup that Colin believes could be a good teaser into what the league is destined to become in the very near future.
Quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen seemed like longshots to be the crown jewels of the 2018 NFL Draft class that featured other big quarterback names the likes of Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Josh Rosen. Jackson and Allen were nearly unanimously tabbed as the fourth and fifth best NFL prospects among that group, with worries about their ability to throw the ball down the field with success.
A year and a half later and Mayfield is the league’s most disappointing player in 2019, Darnold has two pathetic losses against teams who came in winless (Miami 0-7, Cincinnati 0-11), and Rosen is in NFL purgatory, with no real path back to starting on any team in the league.
And for those two prospects at the bottom of first round board? Jackson is the betting favorite for MVP and Allen has the Bills at 9-3 and within reach of not only clinching the Wild Card, but challenging the Patriots for the AFC East crown.
Check out the video above as Colin details why Jackson and Allen aren’t a ‘fad’ like Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III, or Tim Tebow, but rather guys that are actually the future archetype of star-studded NFL quarterbacks.
