Doug Gottlieb: Chris Paul Will Go Down as a 'Winner' Despite Zero Titles

Doug Gottlieb: “We do this thing in sports where we act like there’s more pressure when you get to an NBA Championship, and that if you can overcome the challenges in the first and second round, then somehow if you can’t overcome those same challenges in the higher rounds you’re a ‘choker’. That’s not how it works. There is so many different things that go into winning. Can we put to bed the idea that you have to win a championship in order to be a ‘WINNER’? Chris Paul with the ball in his hands and the game on the line, I have a supreme amount of confidence that he's going to take and make the big shot, or take and make the big play. Last night he solidified himself… You can be a ‘Winner’ and not always win, and you can be a ‘Losing player’ and sometimes win.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Doug Gottlieb explain why he thinks Chris Paul will go down in NBA history as a ‘winner’ despite the 35-year-old Hall of Famer having zero NBA Finals appearances.

Paul has had a very successful career most notably with the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets, but could never get past the second round with LA, and never past the conference finals with Houston -- two loaded rosters with title aspirations who greatly underachieved.

Check out the video above as Gottlieb raves about Paul’s heroic performance in Oklahoma City’s thrilling Game 6 comeback over his former Rockets team, as Paul has the Thunder in position to pull off one of the biggest playoff upsets in recent memory, given how people thought OKC might be the league’s worst roster coming into this season.
