Colin Cowherd: Stop Saying Dak Prescott Deserved a Big Deal

Colin Cowherd: “What is shocking is how similar the numbers are of Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott [the last two years]. Deshaun Watson has won a few more games but they both have 52 touchdowns and around 20 picks, they both complete about 66 or 67 percent of their throws, and one’s passer rating is 100 and another’s is 98.4 It’s the SAME GUY. There’s a BIG difference though. Deshaun has done that DESPITE his surroundings, whereas Dak has accomplished that BECAUSE of his surroundings. This is why I never bought into all the Dallas reporters claiming that Dak was going to get big money. He has had a top 2 offensive line since he entered the league, a top one or two running back, a top 3 or 4 receiving corps, his head coach has always been an offensive guy, and as much as we roll our eyes at Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, they generally draft pretty well, and have had pretty elite talent my entire life. Dak and Deshaun’s numbers are shockingly similar the last two years. One guy got there despite his surroundings in Houston, but another guy got there because of his surroundings in Dallas.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks it was just for the Cowboys to franchise Dak Prescott after the 2019 season, despite the Houston Texans awarding their quarterback Deshaun Watson a four-year, $160 million deal – even though both players have had strikingly similar numbers the past two seasons combined.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he never bought into the idea of Dak getting big money this offseason, as Colin says that Deshaun won DESPITE his surroundings, whereas Dak won BECAUSE of his surroundings.
