Predicting Which NFL Team Cam Newton Will Be Playing For in 2021

Clay Travis: “Do you think Cam Newton’s career as a starter is officially over?”

Jason Whitlock: “He’s going to have to go fight for a job some place. He might have to go to Jacksonville, where they will draft a quarterback, because it’s clear Minshew is not the right guy. Cam can be the placeholder and try to put together something for a year down in Jacksonville. I think Cam will try to go that route, I don’t think he would be willing to go the route Jameis Winston went this year just sitting behind Drew Brees. I think he will try to cherry pick some bad team, with a bad QB situation and go hold the place until the rookie is ready to play, and hopefully play at a high level. He needs to be some place that clearly has more supporting talent than New England has. I could see Dallas going with Cam as the placeholder if Dallas wanted to move on from Dak. It’s going to have to be some bad team. Maybe Washington with Ron Rivera. They don’t really have a quarterback. They basically moved on from Dwayne Haskins, and no one thinks Kyle Allen is the long-term solution. Maybe Cam can start in Washington next year as they develop their rookie quarterback.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Jason Whitlock join Clay Travis on Outkick the Coverage to discuss where he thinks Cam Newton will land in 2021, as Newton’s one-year deal with New England will likely be a dead end for the former MVP who has put up the league’s worst statistical season at quarterback.

Newton ranks 29 out of 32 NFL starters in QBR, and has an unsightly 2/7 touchdown-to-interception ratio in 6 games.

Check out the video above as Whitlock speculates where Newton might land next.
