(Video of Ejection at Bottom of Page) The NBA’s‘Pool Report’ finally explained why Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker was mysteriously ejected from Tuesday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.
Booker received back-to-back technical fouls in a matter of seconds with 7:10 left in the third quarter, and then was seen swiftly exiting the court and back to the Staples Center locker room.
It wasn’t exactly clear what Booker had done when watching the TNT telecast, as Turner commentators were speculating that Booker may have said some ‘magic words’ to the referees that got him tossed in an incident that had nothing to do with physical fighting.
The league’s pool report dropped on Twitter moments after the game saying Booker received the first technical for arguing the call, and then got tagged with another one for ‘using profane language at a game official.’
Twitter originally believed that Booker had been tossed for an 'aggressive' bounce pass to one of the referees after the play, but referee crew chief Marc Davis denied those claims.
The Suns won the game 114-104 despite Booker’s untimely exit, as he left 17 points on the board at the time of his ejection.
The Suns officially passed the Lakers in the standings with Tuesday night’s win, with first-place Utah 3.5 games up on Phoenix with 38 games to play.
